Having visited this area several years ago (Clovis), Tamara
and I decided to explore relocating to the area.
Did the Realtor thing for a week. Portales had
a lure we enjoyed, a hint of the Caribbean (salty sand), Spanish influence,
and as mentioned many times by others, “It’s the people”. So true
is this statement.
People ask why Portales?? Simple answer “Brain
Dead” response is a short pause, then the laughter begins.
Sordid past and credentials are best not mentioned, but briefly – Aviation, Agricultural construction (animal and pet food facilities), and other ventures spiced in for fun.
