Discussion about Future Goals and Timelines: Issues/Questions Raised

Vision/Map Brochure:

· Needs to include room for growth

· BLM Mimbres Revision won’t be starting until after the staft of 2004

· Would it be possible for sub-committee to have a draft ready by October meeting?

· Exact format of brochure still to be determined.

· Should try to leave “flexibility” in vision.

Interactions with Governing Bodies:

· Brochure process may help us answer the question about Network decision-making process, feedback loop.

· Need public education/outreach (ie: article in LC Sun News?)

· CLC, will need to go to Parks & Recreation Advisory Board before City Council; what about Planning and Zoning Commissions?

· Funding question will be asked, even if presentation is just about the Vision.

Rough Timeline developed:

September Network meeting: Network discussion of questions on Management Handout

October Network meeting: Draft of brochure for network discussion

During the fall: CTF to make informational presentations about the Network to City Council, County Commission, and advisory boards as appropriate. Press release could follow meetings.
