Tech Session at the Waleke's- May 7, 2000

The weather was just great to have a Detailing Tech Session. But first we needed to start the day with a full stomach, so we met at the Hilton for breakfast.

 

After breakfast we proceeded to the Waleke's to learn some of the proper procedures and techniques of detailing our beautiful SLs.

 

The turnout was light, but then that meant we could spend more time on the entire car.

As you can see the cars look GOOD but they will look better in a couple of hours.

You never know who you'll see at one of our Tech Sessions.

The evening before - May 6, Las Cruces hosted a Boxing tournament including a couple of Championship bouts. On Sunday, we had the pleasure of meeting Danny Romero who is from Albuquerque. He is a very nice young man and although he was recovering from some painful bruises he allowed us to take some pictures of him and his championship belt.

 

 

 

 
May 6, 2000 Press Release: Former IBF junior bantamweight champion Danny Romero won the North American Boxing Organization super bantamweight title with a unanimous, but tougher-than-expected win over Mexico's Jorge Munoz. Romero (39-3-1, 33 KOs) dominated the entire 12 rounds and battered Munoz's head and body. But Munoz (20-13-2) of Mexico, also delivered enough punches to leave Romero's face bruised and his eyes swollen.

Now on to the Tech Session, instructions by Norm Waleke.

Art Harrison volunteered to have his 380SL used as an instructional tool for the detailing tech session. (Smart idea - get everyone to help him clean his car!)

 Step One: Wash and Wipe Dry

Step Two: Use Cleaning Clay

Step Three: Wax

Step Four: Clean the Interior 

Step Five: Clean Windows and make sure all the rubber is treated.

Step Six: Check it out, be sure you didn't miss anything 

Step Seven: Admire your nice clean and shiny SL.

Step Eight: Thank everyone and then take your SL home.
