Course Description

This is an introduction to short film productions. Students will create a 1 – 5 minute short film and will be required to write, storyboard, shoot and edit their film. They will be guided step by step and follow theory and techniques used in the film industry.

Course Goals

-Learn the crew and production positions on a film set.

-Learn tips and tricks from my filmmaking experiences.

-Write and pitch a short story/idea.

-Draw storyboards.

-Shoot a short film.

-Edit a short film.

-Post a short film online.

Course Materials

Yourself. Students will have access to production equipment. Make sure that you are motivated to learn film and video production.

Release of ownership of concept/script/video

Students are free to screen their material at any venue and in any way they choose. Students may keep 100% of any festival or grant award money from their video production.
