Dear Sir,

This is to request your help in saving the U.S. taxpayer's money.

One of your staff, Ms. Beverly Bookout, has possession of a dental casting of COL Gunnar Carlson's teeth. Understandably, she wants to keep this momento as its value will doubtless increase with time. However, COL Carlson (who is still on active duty!) now needs some dental work, which could be greatly facilitated by using this casting. Additionally, a monetary savings could be realized by not requiring a new casting to be made. To date, Ms. Bookout has been reluctant to cooperate in this matter.

We do not propose to deprive Ms. Bookout of the casting, but only to borrow it for a period of one week. Transportation and armed guards will be arranged to pick up and return the casting to a location convenient to Ms. Bookout.

Ms. Bookout will receive a Certificate of Appreciation and a ride in an Army tank for her cooperation in this matter.

Sincerly,

Hermie O Mastenfeldt

Chief, Dental Castings and Custodian of Dental History
