Rayford Kissiah

Ray was part of the group that got AMT off the ground.  He and his wife Billie were “Charter Members” of AMT — a group of citizens who cared enough about the arts to pony up the money to pay for our first show, Guys & Dolls in 1958 — in which he played the lead, Sky Masterson.

He was elected to the Board of Directors in 1959, and helped guide AMT through the first 25 years of our existence.  His Hollywood looks and baritone voice made him a natural for the many leading–man roles he played for AMT.

An outstanding photographer, Ray recorded much of AMT’s early history with his camera.  Many of the high-quality photos from those days were taken by him.

Ray hasn’t appeared on stage since our 25th Anniversary, but he has been a strong and faithful supporter of AMT for the second half of our existence.

With great pleasure, I present this LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD to Mr. RAYFORD KISSIAH.
