| Samuel's father, John Fitzgerald, died in 1900 before the Census. John's wife
and children were in the household of brother William Albert in Precinct 3, Dickens County, Texas.
It is thought Samuel went with William Albert to Dora, Roosevelt, NM in 1909. Sam's first child was born in NM. In 1910 Samuel was back in home country - the Red Mud Community, TX Kent County Precinct 3, probably where his next two boys were born. In 1920 he was in Roswell, Chaves, NM. Sometime after son Mack was born, the family went to California where son John was born, and where the parents remained. The Red Mud Community is in the SW corner of Dickens County and the NW corner of Kent County. |
| Julia Ola is sister-in-law and cousin of Alice Ester Smith McKay Perkins. Their fathers are brothers. |
