Marriage License: William Johnson - Mary Shye - 26 Jan 1813.

The Johnsons came to Texas between 1834-1837. William received a land grant in Montgomery County dated 19 Jul 1838. It is thought William died in the latter half of 1838.

Mary Shy Johnson married a second time, on 15 Feb 1838 in Montgomery Co., to Philip Martin. Their son, Sam Houston Martin, was born Dec 1839.

Some records are found in Walker County, which was created from northern Montgomery in 1846.
The children's birth dates are tentative. Mary and Martha may be a duplication. William Wilburn's dates are per his grave marker.
Serena married Timothy W. Cude 26 Jul 1829 in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa, AL. He was born 1804 in Grainger Co., TN and died 25 Jul 1861 in Plantersville, Grimes, TX. Timothy's parents were William Arthur Cude and Dorcas Jones, both born in NC. Serena's and Timothy's first three children were born in Tuscaloosa Co., GA, the remainder in Montgomery Co., TX.
Permelia (also Pamelia) married William Samuel Crowson 10 Feb 1851 in Montgomery Co., TX. He was born c. 1814 in Giles Co., TN and died 31 Jan 1863 in Camp Douglas, IL (a notoriously bad Civil War prison). They had five children during 1852-1862.
