Fiesta de los Amigos 60" x 80" By Katrina Kokjohn, blocks by
members of the Friday Night Quilters. The closeup is centered on a block by
Tammy Baldi who taught the mended hearts technique to this group of quilters.
Katrina covered her seams with decorative ribbon. This quilt won a Judges
choice award and second place for a group bed quilt.
The March 15th issue of Phoenix's Arizona Republic carried this article about the
quilt show with a picture of Katrina with her quilt Symbols of America
50" x 35" (below)
Kerry Kelso's sons, Scotty and Nicholas, each made I Spy quilts. Scotty's
on the left (39" x 57") is all dog fabrics and is called "Paws to See my First Quilt".
Nicholas' quilt on the right (54" x 72") is "I Spy my First Quilt". The boys received
many of their fabrics by swapping with their mother's QuiltSwapper friends.

Jane Defoe's quilts usually feature wild animals. She uses fusible web applique,
decorative machine stitches, and paint.

Left: Flowers from my Past 44" x 53" By Joelee Furrier,
machine quilted by Barbara Angerhofer. This quilt won an honorable mention.
Right: Legacy Star 82" x 94" By Carrie Nelson, quilted
by Louise Haley. Based on an antique quilt from the 1870's and made with
fabrics from Laurene Senema's Legacies and Beyond fabric collection. This quilt
won a ribbon for exemplary machine quilting and first place for team bed quilts.
"Psychedelic Ladybug Quilt" 66" x 85" By Cathy McLees. The fence border was
designed by Cathy McLees.
