Friday and Saturday, July 20-22, Sharyn Craig--Setting Solutions

Nancy's
Sedona quilt
On Friday I worked with a set of blocks from two exchanges using a blue/green/purple floral print. One 20" block was a round robin of three rounds and another set of twelve blocks were approximately 10" square. I used the round robin in the center, surrounded it with four of the smaller blocks, and cut five blocks into quarters to make the pieced borders and fillers.
See Sharyn's book Setting Solutions for directions on designing quilts from sets of orphan blocks.

On Saturday I worked with a group of 17 10" blocks from a birthday swap using a fabric made in Fiji. The print was very busy and my goal was to use all 17 blocks on the front of a lap sized quilt and reduce the busyness of the print.
