Bottom Line: YOU CAN HAVE X :)
More Info:
Though at the time of this writing there is no Redhat driver for the
5350's video hardware,
as I learned this time around, you can always have X on an unsupported
card via the
Frame Buffer Device. The graphics are slow, but the resolution
is 1024x768 and works
fine for my needs until a driver becomes available.
I followed the helpful directions at the SUSE site on installing the
XF86_FBDev driver.
Those are here:
http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/cg_framebuffer.html
http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/cg_framebuffer6.3.html
http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/wessels_easy_fbdev.html
(I put all three of these, but don't remember which page I actually
used; they're all about the
same, no need to use Sax or anything specifically Suse).
This should get you up-and-running.
You can email me at: ccosse01@zianet.com if you have questions about
the 5350 setup.
Good Luck!
