CLOUDCROFT UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Where Being Christian is Cool

United Methodist Men (UMM)

This group promotes mission activity at the local level, state level, nationally, and worldwide. They support a missionary with Christian Hands in Action (CHIA), a seminary student, and a person with the Campus Crusades for Christ. The UMM helps the United Methodist Women (UMW) in providing for the needy at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The men of the church are building the new sanctuary. In 1998 they built a small house for a homeless family. They have cut, hauled, and stacked firewood for the elderly, the incapacitated, and for those who were otherwise unable to provide for themselves. Also, the men of the church have helped families with moving. The UMM holds an annual golf tournament as well as a bi-annual auction to raise money for their benevolent projects. The UMM meets the second Saturday of every month at 8 am for breakfast, devotionals, fellowship, and then it's down to business with their meeting.

United Methodist Women (UMW)

The United Methodist Women is a group that promotes mission activity throughout our village, the Mountain Top area, the State of New Mexico and the World. The UMW provides food baskets to needy families at Thanksgiving. At Christmas, the ladies provide toys, clothes, and food baskets for families who would not otherwise have a merry Christmas. The UMW supports 2 missionaries with the American Missionary Fellowship, the Wesley Foundation at Eastern New Mexico University, the Cloudcroft Methodist Preschool, and the Youth/Adult Prayer Partners program of the church. They donate to the Kairos Ministry, provide craft supplies and reading materials to a women's prison in Grants, as well as scholarship assistance to those needing help in order to attend Chrysalis Flights, or Walks to Emmaus. Their contribution to the District UMW goes to support worldwide missions. The UMW's annual bake sale is held at the July Jamboree. The UMW meets on the second Monday of every month at 4:30 pm in the church parlor. All women are invited to attend these monthly meetings. If the church is notified at least one week in advance, childcare could be available for mothers attending the meetings.

Youth Group

The Jr. Hi Youth Group meets every 2nd Sunday, from Noon to 3:30 p.m.
