STEPS - These are the steps I used.

I am glad you decided to give it a try

1.

Tails

Make left tail the active layer
Layers/ View/ Current Only

Object Selection Tool
Click on the tail to select

Pen Tool
Mode: Edit

Right Click on the top left node/ Node Type/ Curve After
Click on the Control Arm and pull down a little

Right Click on the top right node/ Node Type/ Curve Before
Click on the Control Handle and pull it upwards and to the left slightly

Right Click on the bottom left node/ Node Type/ Curve Before
Click on the Control Handle and pull it down and to the right

Click on the left center node
Tap the down arrow on the key pad 3 times

Now do the same thing for the right tail

2.

Knot

Layer Palette
Make knot the active layer

Object Selection Tool
Click on the knot to select

Pen Tool
Mode: Edit

Click on the bottom node and tap the up arrow on the key pad 3 times
Click on the Control Handle and pull to the right slightly
Click on the Control Arm and pull to the left slightly

Click on the left node
Click on the Control Arm and pull it up and to the left slightly
Click on the Control Handle and pull it down and to the left slightly

That looks pretty realistic so you can leave it like this 
or do the same adjusting on the right side

3.

Bow

Layer Palette
Make left bow the active layer

Object Selection Tool
Click on the bow to select

Pen Tool
Mode: Edit

Click on the top right node
Click on the Control Handle and pull it down just a little

Repeat for the right bow

4.

Save A Copy - Optional

Optional Step - I always do this so I can go back later and make changes
File/ Save Copy As: Bow_vectors.pspimage 

5.

Export Shape - Optional

This is an optional step but I strongly recommend doing it
Export As A Preset Shape 

Double Click on bow.psp to restore it

SHADING THE BOW

Convert Layers

Layer Palette
Right click on the first layer/ Convert To Raster Layer
Repeat for each of the vector layers

7.

Detail Layer

Make left detail the active layer

Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur
Radius: 3.00

Every step we do on the left will be repeated on the right

8.

Knot

Make knot the active layer

Magic Wand
Match Mode: RGB Value
Tolerance: 0
Sample Merged: Not Checked
Feather: 0
Anti-alias: Checked
Outside 

Click on any blank spot 

Effects/ 3D Effects/ Drop Shadow
Offset
Vertical: 0
Horizontal: 0
Attitudes
Opacity: 100
Blur: 25.00
Color: #3E5842

New Raster Layer: knot detail

Airbrush 
Shape: Round
Size: 8
Hardness: 25
Step: 25
Density: 50
Thickness: 100
Rotation: 0
Opacity: 25

Blend mode: Normal
Rate: 5

Foreground Color: #3E5842
Background Color: #B3CFB7

Spray on some detail and some highlights

Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur
Radius: 3

Make Knot the active layer

Magic Wand
Click on any blank space

Make knot detail the active layer
Tap the Del Key

This removes any over blur

Layers/ View/ Current Only
Click the eye next to knot

Layers/ Merge/ Merge Visible
Layers/ View/ All

Double Click on Merged
Rename it: knot

9.

Merge Some Layers
Make left bow the active layer

Layers/ View/ Current Only
Click the eye next to right bow

Layers/ Merge/ Merge Visible
Layers/ View/ All

Double Click on Merged
Rename it: bow

Merge and rename the insides

Merge and rename the tails
10. Bow

Make bow the active layer

Magic Wand click on any blank spot

Effects/ 3D Effects/ Drop Shadow
Same settings as above

New Raster Layer: bow detail

Airbrush 
Spray on some highlights and shadows

Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur
Radius: 3

Make bow the active layer

Magic Wand
Click on any blank space

Make bow detail the active layer
Tap the Del Key

Merge the bow and bow detail layers

11.

Tail

Make tail the active layer

Magic Wand click on any blank spot
Effects/ 3D Effects/ Drop Shadow

New Raster Layer: tail detail

Airbrush 
Spray on some highlights and shadows
I increased the size of my brush to: 15

Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur
Radius: 3

I wasn't happy with the shadows so 
I lowered the opacity of the detail layer to:64


Make tail the active layer

Magic Wand
Click on any blank space

Make tail detail the active layer
Tap the Del Key

Merge the tail and tail detail layers
12. Inside
Make inside the active layer

New Raster Layer: inside detail

Foreground Color: #1C281E

Airbrush 
Spray on some shadows

Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur
Radius: 3

Make inside the active layer

Magic Wand
Click on any blank space

Make inside detail the active layer
Tap the Del Key

Merge the inside and inside detail layers

Almost Done

13. A Little Drop Shadow
Make bow the active layer

Effects/ 3D Effects/ Drop Shadow
Vertical: 0
Horizontal: 0
Opacity: 100
Blur: 30.00
Color: #1C281E
Shadow on new layer: checked

I only want the shadow to show on the tails
Make tail the active layer

Magic Wand
Click on a any blank space

Make bow Shadow 1 the active layer
Tap the Del key

Make knot the active layer
Effects/ 3D Effects/ Drop Shadow

Make bow the active layer

Magic Wand
Click on a any blank space

Make knot Shadow 1 the active layer
Tap the Del key


Layers/ Merge/ Merge Visible
Export as a picture tube  optional step
