File/Save As: chick-2.pspimage
Foreground Color: #dbb052
Background Color: #fbd060

2.

 Body

New Vector Layer: body

Ellipse Tool: [Q]
Mode: Draw Ellipse
Show Nodes: Checked
Create On Vector: Checked
Line Style: +Solid
Width: 1.00
Anti-alias: Checked

Draw an ellipse for the body
{43x103 to 157x219)

Objects/ Convert to Path

 Head

New Vector: head

Ellipse Tool: [Q]

Draw an ellipse for the head
{54x61 to 138x137)

Objects/ Convert to Path

Pen Tool [V]
Mode: Edit

Add two nodes

Click on the bottom node
Tap the Del Key

 Wing

New Vector Layer: wing

Ellipse Tool: [Q]

Draw an ellipse for the wing

Direction: Left
Free: 45.00
All layers: NOT checked
Rotate single layer around canvas center: NOT Checked

Mode: Edit

Click on node # 2
Tap the Down Arrow Key 2 times

Click on node # 3
Tap the Down Arrow Key 3 times
Right Click/ Node Type/ Cusp
Pull the Control Arm up slightly
Pull the Control Handle up slightly

Click on node # 4
Tap the Down Arrow Key 3 times
Right Click/ Node Type/ Cusp
Pull the Control Handle down slightly

Add two nodes

Click node # 1
Tap the Del Key

Layers/ Duplicate
Image/ Mirror [Ctrl+M]

 Beak

New Vector Layer: beak

Foreground Color: #d1904e
Background Color: #fbba6e

Preset Shape Tool [P]
Shape: Triangle
Retain Style: NOT Checked
Create as vector: Checked
Anti-alias: Checked

Line style: +Solid
Width: 1.00

Draw a small triangle for the beak
{107x135 to 89x115}

Note: By starting to draw on the right and moving to the right the triangle is inverted

Note 2: Notice that when using the preset shape you don't need to "convert to path"

Pen Tool [V]
Mode: Edit

Double click on any node
Hold down the Ctrl Key and type 1 [on the keyboard, not the number pad]
Continue holding the Ctrl Key and type 2

Click on the top right node
Pull the Control Handle upward and to the left slightly

Click the top left node
Pull the Control Arm upward and to the right slightly

New Vector Layer: wing*

Ellipse Tool: [Q]

Draw an ellipse for the angel wing

Click on the top node
Tap the Up Arrow Key 12 times
Tap the Left Arrow Key 9 times

Click on the right node
Tap the Right Arrow Key 5 times

Click on the bottom node
Tap the Down Arrow Key 1 time
Tap the Left Arrow Key 1 time

Click on the left node
Tap the up Arrow Key 5 times
Tap the Right Arrow Key 8 times

Double Click on any node
Right Click/ Node Type/ Cusp

Use the Control arms and Control Handles to adjust the wing

Click in a zig zag motion to draw a wavy line

Click Apply

UnCheck: Connect Segments
Draw a few lines to represent feathers

Layers/ Duplicate
Image/ Mirror

Repeat for the wing* layer

Click Apply

 Halo

Active Layer: head
New Vector Layer: halo

Foreground Style: #ffffff
Background Color: Null

Ellipse Tool [Q]
Change Line width to: 6

Draw an ellipse for his halo
{64x40 to 134x73}

Objects/ Convert to Path

Click Apply

Layers/ Arrange/ Move Down

We are now done vectoring
Export as a preset Shape Optional
