This tutorial was done with PSP7 JASC Software Button 

All of my tutorials are written following the steps I used to make my graphic.   My idea of a good tutorial is one that shows you how to do something and inspires  you to add your own style.
 
Remember to SaveOften 
STEPS - These are the steps I used.
1. Basic steps
Open the original and we are ready to finish off the candies 

Layer palette 
Click the + next to candy 1 
New Vector Layer: candy 11 
Click on the freehand line  
hold and drag it up to the new layer 
 
Right Click on candy 1/Convert to raster  
Right Click on candy 11/Convert to raster  

Click the + next to candy 1a  
New Vector Layer: candy 11a 
New Vector Layer: candy 111a 
Click on the freehand line  
hold and drag it up to 11a 
Click on the one of the ellipse lines  
hold and drag it up to 111a 
Right Click on candy 1a/Convert to raster  
Right Click on candy 11a/Convert to raster  
Right Click on candy 111a/Convert to raster  

If a candy only has one part, just Convert to Raster 

I did this so each part would be on it's own layer 
 

NOTE: Basic Steps for each candy 
* Convert the layers  
*** Apply the shaping or preset 
* Merge visible 
* Save 

I sprayed on shading for most of the candies 
Use the Retouch Tool if you prefer

2. Candy 1 - Chocolate Covered Cherries
Activate the ellipse layer - candy 1 

Shading Colors 
Dark: #2C1108 
Medium: #823B22 
Light: #D48266 

Airbrush 
Shape: Round 
Size: 1-15 
Hardness: 25 
Opacity: 25 
Step: 25 
Density: 25 

Selections/Select All 
Selections/Float 

New Raster Layer: shading 

Spray on some shading 
Effects/Blur/Gaussian Blur 
Radius: 5 

Selections/Select None 
Lower the layer opacity to: 80 

Make candy 11 the active layer 

Follow the steps above to shade the squiggle 
Except use radius: 3 for the blur 
Lower the layer opacity to: 80 

Layers/View/Current Only 
Layer Palette 
Click on the Glasses to turn on the other shading layer, the freehand and the ellipse layers 
There should only be four layers  open 
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible 

Layer Palette 
Double click on Merged and rename it: candy 1 

Layers/View/All 
Save

Layer Palette 
Make the squiggle layer the active layer 
Shade as above 

Make the cherry layer the active layer 

Shading Colors: 
Dark: #490303 
Medium: #D11603 
Light: #FC7F72 

Shade as desired 

Make the main candy layer the active layer 

Magic Wand 
Tolerance: 50 
Feather: 0 
Sample Merged: not checked 

Select the white part of the candy 
Effects/Plug-in Filters/Flaming Pear/Super Blade Pro 
Apply the Stained Glass Preset 

Magic Wand 
Select the brown part 
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel 
Apply the Frame preset 

Layer/Duplicate 
Move the new layer above the others 
Lower the opacity to 49 

Grab the eraser 
Shape: round 
Size: 15 
Hardness: 100 
Opacity: 100 
Step: 25 
Density: 100 

Erase some of the covering on the cherry 
 
Make the main candy layer the active layer 
Selection Tool 
Click outside the candy 
Selections/Invert 

Make the duplicated Layer the active layer 
Effects/Blur/Gaussian Blur 
Radius: 3 

Merge the layers of this candy 
Rename: candy 1a 

3. Candy 2 - BonBons
Shading Colors 
Dark: #000000 
Medium: #401B14 
Light: #79564F 

Select 
New Raster Layer 
Shade 
Lower the layer opacity to: 80  
Merge 
Rename: Candy 2 

Save

Open cherrycream.psp 

Foreground Pattern: cherrycream 

Magic Wand 
Select the pink part 
Flood Fill with the pattern

Activate the rounded rectangle layer - candy 3

Apply the soft edge preset

10. Candy 9 - Chocolate Covered Cashews 
Shading Colors 
Dark: #3B1F0E 
Medium: #C26B36 
light: #FFC691

Merge

11. Tube Those Suckers
Layers/View/All 
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible 

File/Export/Picture Tube 
Make sure to fill in the 3 areas below. 
For all the others I just accepted the default. 

Cells across: 4 
Cells down: 4 
Tube name: chocolates

12. Make Some Papers
Place candies on a layer leaving at least 15 pixels all around each one 
Magic Wand 
Click on any blank space 
Selections/Invert 
New Raster Layer 

Selections/Expand 
Expand by 6 pixels 

Flood Fill with: #FFFAF1 
Lower the layer opacity to: 80 
Drag below candy 

Effects/Geometric Effects/Wave  
Horizontal displacement  
Amplitude: 1  
Wavelength: 8  
Vertical displacement
