STEPS - These are the steps I used.

1.

Easy Plaids

New Image: 100x100
File/Save As: plaid.pspimage

Foreground Color: #416395
Background Color: #f3dfc3

Paint Brush [B]
Brush Tip: +Square25
Size: 105
Hardness: 100
Step: 100
Density: 100
Thickness: 1
Opacity: 100

Brush Variance Palette
Color Blend: 100

Line up the brush on the left side
Click once
Move the brush to the right side and line it up
Hold down the Shift Key
Click once

Layers/ Duplicate
Image/ Rotate/ Free Rotate
Direction: Right
Degrees: 90
OK

Lower the opacity of this layer to: 50

Merge layers and you have a nice seamless plaid

Experiment with different color combinations

Flood Fill [F] with white

Foreground Color: #416395
Background Color: #f3dfc3

Paint Brush [B]
Brush Tip: +Square25
Size: 105
Hardness: 50
Step: 200
Density: 100
Thickness: 1
Opacity: 100

Brush Variance Palette
Color Blend: 100

Line up the brush on the left side
Click once
Move the brush to the right side and line it up
Click once

Experiment with different color combinations
