This tutorial was done with PSP9
but could be done with other versions.

All of my tutorials are written following the steps I used to make my graphic.
It is my hope that you will take what I provide
and do your own thing with it.

YOU WILL NEED

	Paint Shop Pro - Download a trial version
	Need: LF_safetypin
	Basic knowledge of layers

Remember to SaveOften
STEPS - These are the steps I used.

Lets Begin

New Image: 200x200
File/Save As: pierced.pspimage

Flood Fill with #ff935f

New Layer: pin

Open LF_safetypin

Edit/ Copy

Back to pierced
Edit/ Paste/ Paste as New Layer [Ctrl+L]

Close LF_safetypin

Selection Tool [S]
Select the portion that would be under the fabric

Tap the Del Key

New Layer: edge

Color: #635d59

Paint Brush [B]

Brush: +Default
Size: 1
Hardness: 100
Step: 25
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Rotation: 0
Opacity: 100
Blend mode: Normal

Paint the cut edges making them look rounded

This is an optional step depending on the pin you are using
Effects/ 3D Effects/ Drop Shadow
Offsets: 1
Opacity: 40
Blur: 2
Color: Black

New layer: shadow

Change
Size: 2
Hardness: 50
Opacity: 50

Zoom in so you can see
Line the brush up with the top edge on one side
Click Once
Move to the opposite edge
Hold Down the Shift Key and Click Once

New Layer: highlight

Color: #d3d0cd

Paint a line slightly off center

Here is what we have so far

Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur
Radius: 1.00

Repeat for the shadow and edge layers

Looks pretty good so far
Adjust the opacity of the edge to 65%
highlight to 65%
shadow to 90%

Delete the background layer

Layers/ Merge/ Merge Visible

Your pin is now ready to paste in your layout.
These settings work pretty good for a light background
You might want to make another one for darker backgrounds
adjusting the opacity of the three layers as needed
