This tutorial was done with PSPX
but could be done with other versions.

All of my tutorials are written following the steps I used to make my graphic.
It is my hope that you will take what I provide
and do your own thing with it.

YOU WILL NEED

Paint Shop Pro -  Download a trial version
rose palette and Steps.txt, these are both included in the
Bloodsong's hairy brushes
Basic knowledge of vectors and layers

Remember to SaveOften
STEPS - These are the steps I used.

1.

Getting Ready

Unzip the brushes
Open PSP
File/ Import/ Custom Brush
Click the Open button
In the window that opens up find the brush you unzipped
Click Open
Click Add All
OK

The brushes are now ready to use

2.

 Lets Begin

[Shift Key+D] to duplicate the image
Close your original
File/Save As: rose-painted.pspimage

Open pinkrose_jan.jpg
Use it as a guide for shading

Open Steps.txt and print it out - Optional

Because of all the screen shots following the steps can get confusing
I used the same steps for each petal and found that  printed version was a big help

I give detailed steps for the first petal but only list changes for the others

Active Layer: Raster 1
Flood fill with black
This makes it easier to see your work

New Raster Layer: colors

Open the rose palette included in the .zip file
Copy and paste the color palette here

I prefer having the colors available on the image I am working on
The eyedropper to pick up the color no matter what layer you are on
When using the paint brush you can hold down the Ctrl key while moving the mouse over the color and select it that way
Right click is for the foreground color and left click for the background color
