This tutorial was done with PSP9
but could be done with other versions.
All of my tutorials are written
following the steps I used to make my graphic.
It is my hope that you will take what I
provide
and do your own thing with it.
YOU WILL NEED
Paint
Shop Pro - Download a trial version
Basic
knowledge of Paint Shop Pro
Remember to SaveOften
STEPS - These are the steps I used.
1.
Lets Begin
New Image:
400x300 File/Save As: wood.pspimage
Flood fill with #808080
Pen Tool: [V]
Mode: Draw Lines and Polylines
Connect Segments: NOT Checked
Create On vector: NOT Checked
Show Nodes: NOT Checked
Line style: +Solid
Width: 2.00
Anti-alias: Checked
Place the cursor at about 0x3
Click and hold the mouse button while you drag the mouse across the top of the
canvas
Click Apply
Hold down the Shift Key while drawing the line
This forces a straight line to be drawn
Change the Line width to: 1.00
Click the Swap Colors arrow to reverse the colors
Place the cursor at 0x4
Draw a line right below the first line
Click Apply

Layers/ Duplicate
Move Tool [M]
Move the lines below the first lines
Continue duplicating and moving lines until the canvas is filled
Don't try to make the spacing perfect the wood will look more realistic
