DASO SRTBiography: B. Barlow

Capt. Brent Barlow has been employed with Dona Ana County as a Sheriff's Deputy since 1995. He has been a member of the Special Response Team since 1998 and is currently the Team Commander. Capt. Barlow has earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice / Law and Society from New Mexico State University and has been through numerous Basic and Advanced SWAT courses. These courses include the Military Police's SRT Counter Drug School, SWAT Commander School, LASO SEB Advanced SWAT School, DASO's Basic and Advanced SWAT/SRT Schools, and Paul Howe's Tactical Team Leader Course. In addition, Capt. Barlow has hundreds of hours of advanced level training as recognized by the NM DPS. Capt. Barlow has been certified by the National Tactical Officers Association as a Less-Lethal Instructor, Chemical Munitions Instructor, and LSDD Instructor. Capt. Barlow is also recognized as a SWAT Instructor and Less-Lethal / Chemical Munitions / LSDD Instructor by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety. Capt. Barlow is a primary instructor for DASO's Basic and Advanced SRT Schools.
