Captain David Weaver, "736"

Capt. David Weaver first came to the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department in 1991 and started off with the Team as the first tactical medic, EMT-B. Capt. Weaver was also one of the first Tactical K-9 handlers for the team and progressed to Team Leader and finally Team Commander.  Capt. Weaver was a dedicated member of the team and was always striving to make the DASO SRT the best it could possibly be. 

Still employed with the Sheriff's office, Dave has finally decided to dedicate more of his time to his family life and retire from the SRT, for now. Dave was a huge contributor to the tactics employed by our team and we will never forget the time he dedicated to our unit and his devotion to all of us. His philosophies, teaching methods, and pride in his team and his brothers will remain permanent fixtures in the SRT. Semper Fi, Dave!
