This event is an 11 km (6.8 miles) YRW with the start-finish point at the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces (former Hilton), 705 S. Telshor Blvd. Visit the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces Web Site

DIRECTIONS: ...

I-10 from the East or West: Turn onto I-25 North to Exit 3 and turn right onto Lohman. Turn right onto Telshor Blvd. Proceed to traffic light and turn left, and then into the parking lot of the Hilton.

I-25 from the North: Take Exit 3, keep left, and proceed to the traffic light. Turn left onto Lohman and proceed as above to Telshor.

US Highway 70: Take I-25 south toward El Paso and follow directions for I-25 above.

START-FINISH TIMES... Dawn to dusk, any day of the year.

TRAIL RATING ... Easy (1+), moderate inclines; suitable for strollers.

COURSE DESCRIPTION ... As noted on the trail map, follow the sidewalks through residential areas and near a hospital, New Mexico State University, two shopping malls, and a bike trail. There are magnificent views of the Organ Mountains and Mesilla Valley.

START POINT ... Ask the clerk for the "Volksmarch Box."

CHECK POINT ... Western Service/Convenience Store, 1685 E. University Ave. A clerk will stamp your envelope. A variety of groceries and refreshments are available.

FINISH POINT ... Ask the clerk for the box. Return the envelope with the appropriate monies. Stamp your book if you walked for credit. Return the box to the clerk.
