START/FINISH POINT...La Viña Winery, 4201 S. Highway 28, La Union, New Mexico.

START TIME...You may start anytime from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM for the 5 KM and from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM for the 10 KM. You must finish by 4:00 PM.

All fees include IVV Credit and are due by 10 October 2008.

LATE REGISTRATION...At the Start Point.

CREDIT/NON-CREDIT PARTICIPANTS ... All participants must register and get a start card. The fee for IVV Credit is $3.00.   If Credit or Award is not desired, participation is free.

PROCEDURE...At the start point, obtain your stamped start card and proceed to walk, jog or run the marked course at your own pace. Have your start card stamped or record the message at each check point. Upon completion of the course, return your start card to the finish point for IVV Credit. NOTE: All start cards remain the property of the Sun Country Striders.

"B" AWARDS...Various "B" medals and patches from previous walks are available for $5.00 each.

REFRESHMENTS...The start point will have water and restrooms.  The checkpoint will have water.

TRAIL RATING...Trails are rated “1,” level and easy, along canal banks, residential streets, and farm roads; suitable for strollers; not suitable for wheelchairs.

PETS...Must be leashed and controlled at all times.   Water will be available at the Start-Finish and Check points for your pets.

IVV RECORD BOOKS...Event and distance books are available at the finish point for $5.00 each.

MEMBERSHIP...in the Sun Country Striders, Ltd. is open to all without restrictions as to race, color, ethnic origin, sex, religion, age, national origin or physical ability. You are invited to become a member in the Sun Country Striders. Applications are available at the finish point.

DIRECTIONS to the Start/Finish Point: ... The La Viña Winery, 4201 S. Highway 28, La Union, New Mexico.

INTERSTATE 10 from the east or west: ... Take Exit 0 and turn west onto Texas Farm Road 1905 toward Anthony. Road 1905 bends right (becomes Franklin Road) and continues to a "T" intersection at a traffic light (Downtown Anthony). Turn right (still Texas Farm Road 1905) and go to the next traffic light and turn left (still Texas Farm Road 1905!). You have gone 1.3 miles from the interstate. Continue another 3 miles west (Texas Farm Road 1905 becomes New Mexico 225; you will pass by Gadsden Middle School) to the "T" intersection near Gadsden High School and turn left. Proceed approximately 1.5 and turn right into the La Viña Winery at the sign.

INTERSTATE 25 from the north: ... Proceed onto Interstate 10 east as noted above.

New Mexico Highway 28: ... Turn right into the La Viña Winery approximately 1.5 miles south of Gadsden High School.
