start-finish point at Peppers Supermarket, 812 East Florida
Street, Deming, New Mexico.
DIRECTIONS ...
Peppers Supermarket, 812 East Florida Street. From I-10 Exit 82A
(Eastbound - turn right - Westbound turn left) on Gold Avenue. Continue
on Gold Avenue. (after 3rd traffic light the main arterial bears left to
become Cody then bears right to become Columbus Highway). At next
traffic light (4th- traffic light), Florida Street, turn left then
second right into parking lot.
START-FINISH TIMES ... Daylight hours only. Store
hours: 6 am to 10 pm. Closed Christmas and New Years days.

COURSE DESCRIPTION ... Walk on sidewalks and city
streets thru historic Deming. This easy walk is suitable for strollers
but wheelchairs may encounter problem due to uncut curbs. Spring thru
Fall months can be very warm in this desert climate so carry plenty of
water. A Deli, water and restrooms are available at start-finish. Water
and restrooms are available along the trail when County Courthouse,
hospital and Senior Center are open and, at several restaurants in the
downtown area.
START POINT ... At the
service counter on the left inside the front entrance to Peppers, ask
for the Volksmarch or Walk box.
CHECK POINTS ... are unattended. Record each message on your start
envelope.
FINISH POINT ... Ask for the box, return the envelope, and stamp your
record book. Return the box to the clerk.
