High Fire Ceramic Sculpture
There comes a time when a woman must take a chance
to achieve, to succeed:
- Fertility is a woman impregnated with the creations from Heaven.
She uses her hands to transform the mundaneness of her life. Heaven
bestows upon her wings for strength and a eagle's tail for guidance.
At her feet is a skull to remind us of the cycle of life which includes death
as a transformation not an end.

"Fertility is my first reproduction.
The original is a high fired earthenware ceramic sculpture. The clay body
has a bronze-like luster when fired to cone 10. I am recreating her through
reproductions, so I can build a kiln and studio on my ancestor's land in Tularosa,
NM. The medium I love the most is clay. The magic quality of each
sculpture's process, from its conception to completion, is ecstasy to me."--
