Biography
Kevin is a member of the Mescalero Apache Tribe, descendent of Quanah and Cynthia Parker in relation with Gertrude Clee-neh and Oswald Sr. Smith. He started his professional career as a printer. Due to his epileptic seizures he could not continue in this profession. Kevin now concentrates on Painting Skulls and his family life with his children and wife of 12 yr., Roxanne.
Kevin takes commissions and especially enjoys creating skulls with paintings of insignia from Veterans. He has an extensive library of uniforms and insignia from different eras. Kevin has a large portfolio, here are a few pictures of his work.
About the painted Skull:
The Crown Dancer or Mountain God Dancer image has been copyrighted by the Mescalero Apache Tribe. Only Tribal Members can reproduce and sell art work with this image.
Kevin often creates skull paintings which are a tribute to a person success or outstanding achievements in their life.
Danny Kanseah was our cousin and a great artist who was also a very successful hunter. This is a skull from one of his many hunts, which fed his family. Danny also worked for AIM, the American Indian Movement in the last years of his life. Kevin created this skull as an honor to his life achievements.
He has created many Armed Forces insignia patch designs on skulls for individuals who are Veterans or for their relatives remembrance, honoring their time with us.
Kevin spends many hours on each skull and is very meticulous in his details.
Consignments take time. Since Kevin uses actual skulls, sometimes they require special processing before he can even start painting them.
Kevin takes great pride in designing and creating skulls for people. This is his soul work besides his family, which he loves dearly.
