Santa
Fe
Many Americans do
not realize that Santa Fe is
older than any city or town in Virginia or in Massachusetts. The building below on the left is the oldest
government building in the United
States (now a museum), and the
building on the right is our nation’s oldest church. Both were built in 1610.

Santa
Fe is not a large city, and much of it can be
explored in a leisurely walk. Below are
some of the sights that can be seen in the central part of the city. Many of the buildings you will see are
centuries old, though new ones are often indistinguishable, since new buildings
must also be constructed of adobe.

La Fonda is a beautiful building, and
a wonderful place to stay

Miracle
Stair
Here are
some pictures of the Loreto Chapel and its famous “miracle Stair”

After you have seen
how much things cost in Santa Fe,
enjoyed the world-class art and music, and been frightened by the menu prices,
come on down to earth in Las Cruces.
