Secrets of Successful Consulting
- Know who you are and what your area of expertise is, as well as your limitations.
- Plan and market, plan and market for future business.
- Accept as much work as you can without interfering with your job. In the beginning, give your skills away until you are very good and have experience. Then establish a consulting fee.
- Know your worth and don't charge too little-or too much.
- LIsten reflectively to your participants and colleagues.
- Respond to the needs of your clients. Remain as flexible as possible.
- Continue to communicate with your clients even after the workshop ends.
- Know your competition and learn from them.
- Be self-confident without being arrogant.
- Communicate clearly and concisely. If it isn't in writing, it doesn't exist.
