Criteria for Selecting Presentation Media


The choice of presentation media depends on many factors that must be taken into consideration during the planning process. Instructors should consider:
  • Cost
  • Total time for preparation
  • Available support staff to assist with preparation at the institution
  • Appropriateness for instructional television, www, internet, audioconferencing
  • Level of technical quality needed
  • Size and weight
  • Readability
  • Need for color
  • Need for re-use
  • Importance
  • Time for training the instructor
  • Interest of the instructor
  • Cuing and prompting
  • Use of a pointer-electronic or mechanical
  • Copyright release
  • Portability
  • Ease of storage
