Dear Colleagues,
Do you want to improve your distance learning and training impact? Do
you want to begin a new distance learning program with quality in mind?
If so these workshop descriptions will be of interest to you. Quality teleteaching
and teletraining does not just happen. It takes planning, organization,
experience, commitment, and know-how. This is especially true in a competitive,
consumer-aware distance learning environment in which post-secondary institutions
compete with each other and the growing corporate universities. Top-quality
distance learning programs demand timely content, highly motivated and trained
instructional staff, integrated technologies, high levels of visualization,
interactive field site activities and exercises, correlated handouts, and
skillful verbal and non-verbal presentation skills.
In addition to the national distance learning workshops, EDA offers
several one-day workshops for busy administrators who will manage distance
learning programs. Major concerns addressed include instructional issues,
curricular issues, experiential issues, and management issues.
EDA offers a unique opportunity to learn these important skills in one-
and two-day workshops conducted in-house at your institution. Using interactive
presentations with correlated handouts and specially designed exercises
and activities, your staff will learn while participating.
We invite you to review the workshop outlines and explore the other
documents offered here as you develop your important distance learning programs.
Each of these workshops introduces the participants to a five-point learner-focused
interactive planning instructional system consisting of: 1) Learning, 2)
Assessment, 3) Feedback, 4) Presentation, and 5) Involvement.
Unlike many other training programs, these workshops have been researched,
designed, and delivered by the same person, Tom Cyrs. These unique workshops
can be customized for your specific training needs.
Sincerely yours,
Thomas E. Cyrs, Ed.D., President, EDA
