Q: How much room do I need to store food?

Q: Won't the food spoil before I can use it?

Not so with canned goods and freezer goods that often spoil when emergencies arise, because electrical power is usually off.

Those items that contain dairy, brown rice, shrimp, tuna, nuts or sour cream will have an estimated shelf life of about 2 to 5 years.

Q: I don't know how to prepare low-moisture foods.

A: All you do is add water! Re-hydrate and cook like any other kind of food. It's as easy as A-B-C! Ready Reserve Foods and AlpineAire foods have a helpful “how to do it” cookbook PLUS instructions are on each can.

Q: Do low moisture foods taste good?

A: Unlike canned foods, Ready Reserve Foods and AlpineAire Foods are not processed. Only the moisture (water) has been removed, not the taste! When re-hydrated, Ready Reserve Foods and AlpineAire Foods not only taste as fresh as they did originally, but also look just as good, with the same nutritional value.

Q: Is there enough variety to please my family?

Q: How do I know how much of what to order?

A: Every family is different in size and taste. For instance, a family of seven adults would require more food than a family of two adults and five children. In addition, if you like fresh fruit, but dislike gelatin, you would need to adjust your order accordingly.

Q: Does Ready Reserve Foods and AlpineAire Foods have their own factory.

A: Yes! Both companies acquire top quality food from a variety of reputable sources, not compromising on quality, and dehydrate or freeze-dry the food in their state of the art facilities. In addition, because AlpineAire Foods has freeze-dried real poultry and meat products and have regular USDA inspections. The Beef products are HORMONE FREE. Both companies have #10 (about a gallon) and # 2 ½ cans (about a quart) and are either nitrogen flushed or have an oxygen absorber. (The oxygen absorber is iron oxide, which absorbs oxygen. It tastes awful, so don’t eat it.)

Q: But, I thought storing food was expensive.
