Apple's Approval Rating

With JD Edwards reporting that is still on the top of the charts when it comes to customer satisfaction, I would like to add my opinion. Two weeks ago I was in Branson, MO and my first generation iPhone was not charging properly. I called Apple and after some basic checks and restore, Apple stated that they would send a replacement for me. I requested that they send it to the house for Monday delivery since I was returning on Sunday. Sure enough, when I got home it arrived on Monday as promised.
I replaced the sim and restored it as a new phone as a software update had come out and I did not want to spend the time on the old one to update it. Everything went fine except that it would not connect to my wireless system. Next was the call to Apple support and spent an hour going through two levels of support to finally come to the conclusion that there must have been something wrong with the replacement.
The Product specialist offered to replace the first generation phone with a 3G phone. I thanked him very much for the offer but suggested to him that would be like being half pregnant. I countered by saying that the 3Gs would be a much better substitute than a 3G. After consultation with higher levels, the Product Specialist came back to me and said he got approval to ship a new 3Gs. I then stated that the 32GB would be far better than the 16GB that I had. After some discussions, he got approval that if I pay the difference between the 16GB and 32GB, he would ship that bigger one. The cost of the difference was $100. So I agreed and the new phone arrived two days later.
The good part about the transaction besides the new phone is that I got credit on the unused portion of my Applecare and was able to purchase a new one with the full two-year warranty. Because of the upgrade I did not have to sign up for another 2 years of AT&T service.
In case AT&T loses that exclusivity with Apple, I will be able to choose any network I want.
So now all of my Apple hardware has been upgraded due to the Applecare program. My Mac Pro desktop, Mac Pro laptop, and now my iPhone all have been upgraded at least two generations.
Life is good.
Buy a New iMac 27", Mac Pro, New 3Gs iPhone,
or iPod.
P.S. Please talk to an officer if you are interested at all to become a part of the EPMUG board. We need help to keep this moving forward.
