Our Pastors
      Pastor John Powell, Senior Pastor
    John Powell, originally from Michigan, has served as head pastor at First Evangelical Free Church since 1980. Along with the many ministries and services he provide the church, he is also active in the community, especially with his work in bring Christian radio to the Las Cruces, Juarez community through Moody Broadcasting and Spanish Radio Manantial.
     
      Pastor Gordon Douglas, Family Ministries
    Gordon Douglas moved from California to Las Cruces in 1989 to take a position in family ministries at FEFC. Some of his work includes working with the small group bible studies and youth ministries of the church. 


Executive Board
    As an evangelical free church our congregation is led by members of our church who are elected to those positions by the members of the church. Heading the church leadership is the Executive Board. These members of the church serve in the following positions:
    • Church Chairman: The church chairman heads the church executive board and is responsible for guiding and directing the entire church program. 
    • Deacons & Deaconesses: These men and women manage the spiritual needs of the church. They assist the pastors in providing spiritual guidance, prayer support, and other needs for the congregation. The chairmen of the both the deacons and deaconesses sit on the executive board.
    • Trustees: The trustees manage the physical property of the church and provide service in maintaining and operating the church facilities. The church budget is set and overseen by the trustees. The chairman of the trustees sits on the executive board.
    • Treasurer: All financial matters of the church are managed by the treasurer. They also submit regular reports of church finances for review by the executive board.
    • Secretary: The secretary is responsible for the accuracy and safekeeping of all church records including membership and funds received. The secretary is also responsible for keeping minutes of all executive board and congregational meetings.
    • Chairman of Christian Education: The CE chairman, along with the Director of Christian Education, is responsible for the Christian education ministry of the church. They head the Christian Education Board.
    • Missions Chairman: The missions activities of the church are directed by the missions chairman who heads the Church Mission's Board.
