Meeting Minutes, May 12, 2009

 The Meeting was opened at 7:00 PM by Bob Paul with Prayer.

 Present were: Bob Paul, Charlie Yaryan, Bill Brady, Ralph Miller and Austin Breck.

 Excused: Jean Bernard Nganou

 Considered at this meeting:

·        A hiring recommendation for janitor and Sunday Sexton. A consensus was reached on how the job would be structured. Discussions will be held with the most qualified applicant.

·        A plan for coordinating our three areas of janitor support. Bob Paul will go over the schedules and procedures with each of the parties to clarify the working relationships and interlocking responsibilities.

·        A proposal for Grounds Maintenance was accepted for review by the committee.

·        Options for an identifying sign for our church. It was agreed that an electronic sign should be pursued and an approach to financing was shaped.

·        It was agreed to consult some knowledgeable church members on the possibilities of rejuvenating our fallen cross in some acceptable and affordable way. It seems that good ideas exist in the congregation and that at least one member is anxious to help.

·        The Buggyman exterminators were put on quarterly treatment schedule to begin this week rather than a once month schedule to help reduce expenses. The committee reviewed the decision and it was agreed that the monthly treatment should be maintained until December.

 ·        Work orders - Completed or Pending

·        Repair/ replace diffusers/fluorescent tubes in Children’s Garden - completed

·        Repair Bunn Coffee maker in Watkins kitchen. Austin Breck will do an assessment and either repair or make a recommendation for repair.

·        Broken Plate glass window in Children’s Garden. We are awaiting an estimate from Art Glass. It is not expected that our deductible will cover it.

·        Door Stop Children’s Garden-completed

·        Final dressing of wood chips in playground. Children’s Garden staff will touch up with rakes.

·        Fix jammed gate to playground, at west door to choir room. Completed.

·        Replace water spigots around campus, probably three. In process – Bob Paul

·        Repair brick wall at service entrance to Watkins Hall. Charlie Yaryan is managing this project.

 The meeting was closed in prayer by Charlie Yaryan at 8:50 PM.
