Building and Grounds Meeting Minutes,

July 14, 2009

 The meeting was opened at 6:45 PM with a review of the agenda and adjustment of priorities.

In attendance were: Invited guest Judith Ames, Bob Paul, Charley Yaryan, Bill Brady, Ralph Miller and Austin Breck. Absent was Jean Bernard Nganou.

 Judith alerted the committee to problems with the performance of the contractor responsible for cleaning and preparing the Children’s Garden area for Saturday and Sunday for use by FPC. Also it was concluded that we need to review our night Janitor service contract and insure that tasks in the contract are being routinely performed. The discussion was valuable and is expected to result in improvements in these areas.

 Judith also recommended that we not delay in developing a plan for reseeding-developing the quadrangle area where the children play. This has been taken under consideration.

 Electronic sign- Activities ongoing:

To date the primary effort has been on the first three bullets.

 Upcoming Children’s Garden inspection: The facility is ready for final inspection.

 New grounds maintenance contract. The probability of saving money and improving service is judged to be very likely with the new contract.  The base price of the contract will be less than present arrangement. The new contract is ready for signing. The new contract will go into effect a/o Friday July 31, 2009.

 Maintenance of vans: A recommendation was made and agreed to, that will be forwarded to the Administration Ministry. It is recommended that responsibility for maintenance of the church vans be moved from the Administration to the Building and grounds Ministry.

 The meeting was closed with prayer and adjourned at 8:00 PM.
