Old Business:
-
Electronic Sign: Design is believed to be complete except for perhaps one more
experiment. Cost estimates and funding methods are to be completed by the end
of October.
-
Janitorial service while Michael is on vacation. Our after hours janitor, who
takes care of prescribed tasks on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, was
prepped to do extra work in the Sanctuary and Children’s Garden. The
arrangements will need review as the results were barely adequate. Better
planning will be required in the future. Michael showed up unexpectedly on
Sunday morning and saved the day as once again the backup plan was incomplete.
-
The Children’s Garden inspection was passed.
-
The idea of standing task forces with special skills and interests was again
discussed. Projects would not be limited to work days. There are several
members and friends that fit into this model now. Our plan is to expand these
work groups.
- A
small group was formed to assist one of our members get established in a more
amenable living environment. Admin. as well as Buildings and Grounds and
other members of the congregation were involved in what was a very successful
effort to love our neighbor.
- A
new Grounds maintenance contract was awarded. Our irrigation system was badly
in need of repairs and most of these are completed. Sprinkler Heads were
replaced and adjusted with noticeable appearance improvements in the lawn and
shrubbery, although much work remains to be done,
New Business:
-
An agreement was made to transfer the function of vans maintenance from the
Administration ministry to the Buildings and Grounds Ministry. A maintenance
schedule will be prepared.
-
We are working on minor modifications in the choir room to make it more
functional. Jon Daniels did some excellent cabinet work on this project. Still
needed is proper mounting of white board. A small message board was also
installed.
-
Cork strips for mounting charts and posters in the Children’s Garden class
rooms will be installed during October.
- Repair of the fence
section on the east side of the quadrangle where it was removed to replace the
water main
