2010

Grandle, Ralph Miller, and Bob Paul (member-at-large)

The meeting was opened with prayer at 4:00 PM
- Disposition of the
remains of the old church cross. The committee considered a request
from Church Triumphant for the remnants the cross removed from our church
roof. It was agreed that the cross cannot be used in any fruitful way by our
church. It was recommended and agreed upon that the old cross be gifted to
Church. Triumphant if it could be moved within two months-and the components
not be used in any way to desecrate the image of Christ. Rev. Story will be
advised prior to final action.
- Update on quadrangle
lawn restoration. The new lawn has been seeded and a new sprinkler
system installed with a new controller.-timer. It is currently set to run
once a day but will be stepped up as the weather warms up.
- Heating and cooling
contract.(HVAC). It was agreed that a new contract for the HVAC
(Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system will not be awarded.
Significant cost savings are expected to result. Maintenance will be done on
call as needed. It is planned that the sextant staff can provide support in
this area .by replacing Filters.
- Planning for the Sexton
function. We are planning for more support from the sexton function. Our
commitment is for Buildings and Grounds to respond to requests for support
in the most effective way possible within the resources that are available;
We plan to be a roadway rather than a roadblock to getting things done. This
will include, for example, working with our ministry teams to shield staff
personnel from requests for which staff is neither funded nor staffed to
handle. More coordination with other ministry teams will be required.
- Planning now calls for
two part time sextants with one working 4hrs/day, Monday Tuesday and
Wednesday, and the other working Friday, 4hrs, Wednesday, 4 hrs. in the
evening, and 6 hrs. Sunday morning.
- Mike will be on vacation
for one week starting Monday, 22 March.
- Plan for Spring
Cleaning Workday. We will continue our ongoing tasks and prepare a
prioritized list.
- New Cross for Church
.There seems to be considerable support for this project. No progress or
discussion was had due to lack of time at this meeting
The
meeting closed with prayer
Respectfully Submitted,
Robert Paul, Member at large
