Christian Education Ministry Team Minutes

November 4, 2008

 Members Present – Gena Breck, Gary Gemoets, Susan Grandle, Mary Ellen Gregg, Olivier Huebo, Kathy Story, Greg Temple

Excused: Blaine Goss

 Devotion and opening prayer was given by Gary Gemoets.

 Minutes and Budget Report were accepted.

 Written Sunday School report presented. Attendance remains about the same. Adjustments have been made for Church School for 4’s and 5’s.

 No report available for Youth, Adults, or Salt & Light.

 Team members discussed questions posed to the ministry teams by Pastor Norm Story. We as a team see God at work within our team and in our church through our interactions with children and youth, through the Salt and Light program, with in the Women’s Circles (Presbyterian Women), and by bringing us a new Youth Director (Mark Hellmann).  We perceive God’s call to start small group studies and start the Discipleship Project that encourages and recognizes adult spiritual development.

 A proposed budget for 2009 was debated. Team consensus was to basically leave the budget as it was for 2008 with a few minor shifts within the line items.

 Gary reported Night in Bethlehem is right on track. He issued an open invitation for participation in this event. He would like to have time to present sneak peeks to the congregation during worship the four weeks prior to Dec. 20^th.

 A discussion was held regarding planning for Discipleship Project with volunteers for specific jobs to get it up and going for January.

 The meeting was closed in prayer by Kathy Story.
