 Opening: The meeting was opened with a devotional from Mark Hellman at 6:30pm

 Review and approval of last meeting minutes

Reports

 Budget Report- Susan Grandle

Budget was reviewed.  Questions as to the addition of Mid-school line items to mirror High school line items in the Annual budget.  Also to see if an expense detail is possible for items purchased in order to see the areas of greatest need for future planning.           

Sunday School and Church School Classes – Gena Breck

Sunday school attendance report submitted and review.  Letter submitted by Sunday School teachers to be distributed to parents of students that attend the Sunday School classes.  Letter addressed the daily timeline for Sunday School activities and asks parents to please have their student participate in all activities.  At this time the information will be shared in the “Good News” and followed up in the fall of next year.  For children that do not attend the Sunday School classes, a discussion formed about the collection of names of children who attend the church service.  The children would be invited to attend the Sunday School classes. Possibility of placing an invite/contact announcement in the Sunday bulletin.

 Youth - Mark Hellman

The mid-school lockin is February 20 – 21.  Plans are in place for the High Schoolers to have a Lockin in March.  Date is still pending.  The youth will are looking to have a Garage Sale fundraiser this spring pending the approval of the session.  Dates are still being discussed.  Summer mission trips are being planned.  The Mid-high is planning a mission trip to a Navajo Reservation through a Youthworkers Program.  The dates are from June 28 – July 3.  The High Schoolers are looking into a Christian music festival, Spirit West Coast, in San Diego during May 22-24.

  Salt and Light – Tracy Geiger

Tracy will be out of the office for two weeks.  Michelle Osborne will be lead for Salt and Light during her absence.  Reminder for Ash Wednesday, February 25, all church soup dinner.  The youth will be singing during the Ash Wednesday service.

 Old Business –

Discipleship Project – Bringing in presenters for Discipleship Project tabled for the time being.  CE Members will start selecting existing resources, materials and activities, for implementing the foundation of the Project.  Resources will be review at the next CE meeting.

 New Business –

CE Ministry description for Session was review, discussed, and revised.  The description gives insight to how staff can assist the CE Ministry team.  The description will also allow us to see crossover areas with the other ministry teams.

 Easter: Sunrise Service by the youth.  Sunday school to be youth – elementary crafts.  Reminder for Easter Morning Breakfast.

Summer Sunday School: Sunday School will continue over the summer as a pre-5^th class.
