Congregational Life and Outreach Committee Minutes
Tuesday, April 14, 2009 7:00 p.m.
MINUTES
Present: Carissa Brealey, Cindy Tafoya, Larry Felhauer, Pat Felhauer, Donna Mathis, Rusty Smith, Kathy Story, Tracy Geiger, Clint Woodward
Meeting opened and closed in prayer.
1. Tracy talked about the Discipleship Project
a. We値l be having a friendly competition among committees.
b. A table with project options will be set up in the library tomorrow.
c. Competition will start in early May.
2. Discussed Old Fashioned Hymn Sing and After Church Picnic, April 26:
a. Tracy has already spoken with Greg Sherman, Bill Kersting and Lloyd; Carissa took an action to go to the next choir practice and make an announcement asking for volunteers to lead hymns.
b. We値l provide egg salad, tuna salad, and chicken salad, plus breads, chips and drinks; we値l ask congregation to bring side dish or dessert.
c. Tracy took an action to put something about the event in the Good News and the bulletin; she will also send out an e-mail to everyone in the church Friday, 4/24.
d. Clint will help Tracy with the setup plans and coordinate with Mike to get tables and chairs setup out in the quad.
e. Larry will make an announcement during service on Sunday.
f. Congregation can come in and suggest hymns by putting them on a list that we値l put in the office. Tracy/Courtney/Shannon will make up the music booklets.
g. Tracy took an action to check with Sam痴 Club/Albertson痴 on salad pricing. We値l decide whether to buy or make based on that.
3. Graduation Sunday, May 17:
a. Tracy is putting in an order for a sheet cake at Sam痴; we値l also provide punch.
b. Tracy will also start putting a notice in the bulletin for people to let the office know if they have a friend or relative graduating.
c. Tracy will get to Carissa the catalogue of gifts.
4. Camping trip, May 30:
a. Larry suggested www.ultimatecampsource.com for games/activities.
b. Carissa will work on a write up for bulletin/Good News.
