A dramatic video biography of the life of the 14th century scholar and cleric who first translated the Bible into English.

 It is time to make your vacation plans and the Deacons have just what you need! Our annual weekend at Camp Chimney Spring is coming up soon so mark your calendar now!

This year's theme is Tinder: The Uses to which God Puts Our "Dry" Times. John Poling will be leading the worship service and Bible study. Events planned for the weekend also include a potluck dinner Saturday night, games and plenty of free time for fellowship, hiking and relaxing! The camp has a softball field and a "Frisbee golf course".

Reservations can be made for Friday and/or Saturday nights. Please call the church office by June 29 to reserve a space. The prices which follow include a 50% discount because our church is a Camp Chimney Spring Covenant Member.

Nightly rates:

R.V. site with hook-ups $7.50

R.V. site without hook-ups $5.00

Cabin $25.00

There is also a "mini-lodge" that can accommodate up to 10 people. The cost is $62.50 per night

As always, everyone is welcome to drive up for the Sunday morning worship service and lunch at the camp lodge. Reservations need to be made for lunch. Prices for lunch are-

Adults $5.85

Children 2-11 $3.65

Children under 2 $1.50

New Plans

for Disciples'

Avenue

Work is needed in our educational space!! There are exciting new plans for Disciple's Avenue. We want to move The Temple,

re-do the kindergarten room, decorate a Game Arcade, and start the Computer Lab. Can you help? Many walls need painting!! Call the church office to volunteer. Thanks!

 


 

What a marvelous Pentecost Service on June 11!! The special music composed and directed by Harry Beckett almost raised the rafters!!

Many thanks to the other musicians: Gordon Butler, Barbara Creider, Gabriel Flores, Megan Magirl, Gabriel Mendez, Elisa Poling, Jackie Poling, and Sue Spencer. Harry's CD, Mellow Latte, which sold out so quickly will be available for purchase in the church office.

Vine and Branches, a fellowship group of parents and young couples, is going to a Diablos baseball game on June 25th. Call Marianne Day-Watson (521-1538) by the 19th to get tickets reserved for your family!

 

2000 Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women

It will be an exciting week when almost 6000 Presbyterian Women gather for study, prayer, mission presentations, worship as well as fun and fellowship! Please keep the following women from our congregation in your prayers. They thank everyone for supporting the fundraisers that make this possible!

Worship Outreach

Large print bulletins and hymnals are available for worship each Sunday.

There are also hearing devices at each door. Just ask an usher! The service is

tape recorded each week and a copy of the service can be obtained in the church office.

Senior High

July 11 (Tuesday) – 6:00 p.m. Senior Farewell – Join us as we say goodbye to this year’s graduates. We are doing this early so Sue can join us before she leaves.

July 23 (Sunday) – We will meet at the church at 7:00 p.m. and go play a round of miniature golf before having ice cream. (Seniors – plan to join us even though it is after your farewell)

August 12 (Saturday) – 6:00 p.m. 9th Grade Welcome Plan to join us as we welcome the new 9th graders into the group.

 

Mid-School

July 8 (Saturday) – 6:00 p.m. 8th Grade Farewell –We will have this early so Sue can join us before she leaves.

July 12 (Wednesday) - 6:30 p.m. Fellowship activity. (8th graders please plan to join us for the July activities even though they are after the farewell.)

July 19 (Wednesday) – 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. The Great Escape Remembered! Bring your pictures that you took on the trip to Gunnison and share them with the group.
