Order forms will be in the October 10 worship bulletin or call the church office (526-5559) to place your order.

An Ark for Today’s World

Long age, the ark was a place of refuge in the storm. The people safe inside got a chance. Blessed with animals to both delight and help them, they started life over.

Today, a storm of hunger and poverty spoils the chance of a good life for many of the world’s people and does great harm to the environment.

Gift Ark $5,000

A Heifer Project Gift Ark launches a boatload of help and hope for hungry people and the earth. Every family who receives a Heifer Project animal begins a journey toward better health and more income. Families work together to pass on the gift of livestock and learning to others in need. The whole community improves as more and more families practice sustainable farming methods that are in harmony with the environment as God intends.

Our Salt and Light Co., with the support of Session and the Mission Committee, is launching an ambitious project -the purchase of a Gift Ark by this congregation.

From October 13 - November 17, children and youth at Salt and Light will be learning about world hunger issues, protection of the environment, and serving others. A vigorous campaign through children’s sermons, Focus on Mission spots, music, and mailings will enlist the participation of the entire congregation in reaching our $5,000 goal! The annual Mission Dinner on November 17 will be a Heifer Project Fair! Watch for more details in the next Lantern and in your mailbox.
