 The meeting opened at 7:00 PM with prayer and Wayne describing the excitement of an approaching procession--God’s parade.

 No changes were made to the September 8 minutes as distributed.

 Financial statement through September shows our expenses at about 55% of budget.  However some distortions are appearing, including charges for choir music through next June, and the copyright license which was totally paid in one month.  Music for youth has not yet been assigned and sound system changes have not yet been billed.  The organ fund carryover has not been designated.

 Communion was served to 240 at the October 4 World Wide Communion service.  This included members of the who worshiped with us. 

 The next Saturday Night Life, alternative once-a-month informal service, will be October 17at 6:00 PM.  An offering of canned foods will be received.  It was moved to encourage Saturday Night Life to establish a 2 Cents A Meal offering.   Motion seconded and passed

 Reports about regular activities: Jim Parks met Valley Sound technicians at the church on Monday to begin removal of the old control box behind the bell tables.  They will return on Wednesday to complete the installation and connect the narthex speaker, and return during choir practice to make sound level adjustments.

 Mariann Novack will not be available for sanctuary decorating on November 28.  It was the consensus that decorating should not be done before Thanksgiving, but at least some should be in place for the first Sunday in Advent, November 29.  That suggests a progression of decorating that adds new details up to the inclusion of poinsettias just before Christmas Day.   We should go ahead with basic decorating on the date The InBetweeners first announced for their “Christmas decorating party,” November 28. 

 Other Business: There was a general discussion of bulletin formats.  Use of the hymnal was also discussed.
