Present: Tommy Matkin, Moderator; Dutch Matkin, Bob Taylor, Robert McPherson, Rosemary Maddox, Alex Burr

Excused: Bruce Pearson & Clint Woodward

Meeting: Tommy opened the meeting at 7:10 p.m. with prayer.

1. Copies of the budget were passed around. Tommy will tell Kathy that the way she presents our monthly financial statement is acceptable, but please drop the "h" in Cristo Rey.

2. Miscellaneous correspondence received was passed around and discussed. Dutch noted that numerous Wycliffe Bible Translators are in prison and need our prayers. The Father & Son Mission Weeks in the Gulf brochure will be passed on to Rev. Story.

3. The Presbyterian Medical Benevolence Foundation sent seeds of the moringa tree, which grows rapidly and is a source of protein for malnourished Africans. A tree can be planted for a donation of $1. Bob will look into this.

4. Rosemary reviewed the file on the Harveys in Singapore, and reported that in their last communication (a Christmas card) they stated "We hope we can visit during this year on home leave." It was agreed that Rosemary will contact them and find out the dates of their home leave.

5. Tommy had a request from Bruce White, who has volunteered to work several weekends with the Kairos Ministry Group. Each volunteer will be asked to pay $180. Bruce will pay his fee but asked if the Church would support a volunteer who could not pay his or her fee. After discussion, Robert moved, seconded by Bob, that we don't have extra money to approve this type of request. The motion carried.

6. Tommy said current committees have been asked to set goals. After general discussion, these are the stated goals of the Mission Ministry Team:

1. Make the Pontier's visit as visible to the Congregation as possible.

2. Attempt to arrange a visit from the Harveys during their home leave.

3. Explore the possibility of an adult mission trip.

4. Begin efforts to update the Missions Directory.

Bob will mention in "Beyond Our Walls" that we are looking forward to the visit from the Pontiers and that we hope to have a visit from the Harveys during the year.

Adjournment: Bob closed with a prayer at 8:05 p.m.
