Our Special Mission Programs
Doing Ministry Here and There
As a church we provide regular partial support for the following programs. A very brief summary of the work of these programs is included here.. In some cases a link to a fuller description is provided. A fuller summary is available in the Missions Booklet in the church pews
Donna Evans is a linguist with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Her translation of the New Testament for the a minority group in Southeast Asia has been published.
The volunteers with St. Lukes Health Care Mission here in Las Cruces specialize in medical service.
The Gospel Rescue Mission here in town specializes in relief and rehabilitation of individuals whose lives have fallen apart materially and otherwise. The Mission also evangelizes.
John & Gwen Haspels, continue to work among the Suri abd Bali people of Ethiopia, funded by The Presbyterian Church (USA), where they have seen the Christian church grow from five faithful people to several dozen. In November 1996, John baptized 90 people in the Tum church, and the building was overflowing with joyful, thankful people. Praise God and keep these workers in your prayers. Tom and Judy Harvey originally worked in Singapore. He is now Dean at the Oxford Center for Mission Studies in England.
The Priscilla Bible School in Mérida, Yucatan, trains young women for Christian service.
Ron & Donna Pontier, working with Africa Inland Mission, are continuing service with AIM AIR in Uganda. See more web pages.
