Hillsboro Fire / Rescue Department provides fire protection and emergency medical service to the residents, tourists and travelers in this area of southwestern Sierra County in the State of New Mexico, U.S.A.. Our service area consists of about 250 square miles with about 200 full-time residents living in the rural communities of Hillsboro and Kingston and on the ranches surrounding them. We are an all volunteer organization.

We are summoned by Sierra County Central Dispatch in Truth or Consequences via radio page and plectron equipment which activates sirens on the fire stations in both Hillsboro and Kingston (9 miles of State Highway 152 separate the two communities, Kingston being west of Hillsboro).
