...Another Train Wreck in 2002 ??
The original “birth chart” for the Bush “Oath of Office” has been described as a “train wreck” and it does seem most of what that chart described has certainly panned out. Now, we’ve cast the “Solar Return” chart for 2002. The Solar Return is cast for the exact time when the Sun returns to the same position it was in at the time the Oath of Office was given. The Solar Return chart “kicks in” in terms of its influence approximately three months before the Sun returns to its exact position, which means the energies described started to have an impact around the end of October, 2001. Let’s see what’s going on as the chart continues to unfold for 2002
The Sun (President, Administration) sits
this year in the area of the chart (6th House), which
involves services, including labor groups and national
employment, the armed services, and health issues. And guess
what? The armed services and the economy are certainly the main
news so far this year. The Teamsters union seems to be buying
into the promise of jobs if Arctic drilling goes forward and we
hear that the State of the Union address will include a mention
of that phony prescription card plan for seniors. And, of course,
the military has taken center stage since September 11.
The connections to the Sun/President further define the emphasis for this year. The Sun sits right alongside Venus, which rules money, banks, and general economic conditions and also the female citizens in the country. There's no doubt that the economy is of great concern. Now, look at the great interest Bush has shown with regard to women’s issues—closing down the White House office on women’s issues, cutting the Labor Department’s regional women’s offices (totally about 30 employees at a cost of $3 million), cutting family planning funds, and the ever present threat of appointing a justice to the Supreme Court that could demolish Roe v. Wade.
There is also another grouping of planets in the 7th House. Together, all the planets in the 6th and 7th Houses form a powerful group influencing the Sun/President. The 7th House involves international relations, threats of war, and foreign trade. Bush has been granted fast track authority with regard to trade agreements and since September 11, the Administration has had the country on a war footing.
Two important planets, Mercury and Neptune, sit near the Sun/President here in the 7th House. Neptune generally indicates things that are hard to see or that are hidden in some way—so, you can understand why it rules oil and gas (from below the ground), as well as the way the citizens may be deluded or deceived and also fraud and subversion. The planet Mercury, which rules communication and travel, sits right on Neptune, which indicates that the Administration will be dishing out a great deal of information but that it will be more like propaganda. Since Mercury also rules the media at large, expect to see the fuzzy reporting on what Bush is doing to continue (not to mention how the NORC report on the election was completely misrepresented in the press.) The Neptunian influence over Mercury may explain what has happened to the airline security law that placed oversight under Federal offices. The Bush Administration took advantage of “flexibility” clause that has permitted the Transportation Department to allow private firms to continue hiring cheap, under-educated labor just as they were doing prior to September 11, thus undermining the intent of the law.
Let’s add bullying and control to the list of attributes of the Bush Administration for this year. The Sun/President, along with Mercury (communications) and Venus (banking, economics, women), tie into the planet Saturn, which sits in the 11th House. This house is the area of the chart which involves the institutions of government, such as Congress, as well as the nation’s hopes for the future. Saturn functions to control and restrict these institutions as well as communication about the economy and money, as well as the rights of women. As things unfold this year, don't be surprised if the country's "hopes" begin to cloud over.
And there’s another interesting Neptune connection. The planet Jupiter describes the nation’s laws and judges and sits in the 12th House. This house involves areas of the country’s life that are hidden or secret, and this includes behind the scenes manipulation, covert aggression, terrorist activities, and third world nations. And Jupiter in the 12th House ties right into Neptune, which strengthens the sense that we're not being told everything we should be told. Ashcrott, the Attorney General's destruction of constitutional rights? His links to Enron? Afghanistan pipelines? The war against terror predicted to expand into third world countries like Somalia, Yemen, and the Philippines? Need I say more??
Now let’s take a closer look at the potential for aggression this year’s Solar Return chart describes. Let’s just say it’s very high! The Sun/President is further tied to the planet Mars, which involves aggression and the mobilization of the armed forces. The Administration is presenting an image of America to the world as a powerful aggressor (a determined Leo Ascendant/ruled by the Sun in the 6th House—see above) and staking its status in the world on this image (assertive Aries MC, ruler Mars in the 9th House, which oversees international diplomacy and law.)
Let’s take a look at the Moon, which describes the general population, the mood of the people, women, and how the populace reacts to the actions of the President/Sun. The Moon also sits in the assertive sign of Aries (which is ruled by Mars) right up there near the MC (the nation’s status in the world), so you can bet on the Administration trying to keep emotions high among the masses by the use of bellicose language. And, since the Moon is located in the 9th house, the house of international diplomacy and law, well, let's just say it won’t be a year of tact on the world stage, either. The Moon is contacting Pluto which involves terrorism, secrets and organizations such as the mafia, CIA, FBI, etc. and anything hidden from the public view. Remember all that stock activity that occurred just before the World Trade Center was hit and the possible connection to a CIA bigwig? And reports about the bin Laden family and the Bushes and the possibility that the FBI was told to stop investigations are beginning to surface.
Domestically, the 9th House also is the place describing the Supreme Court, higher education, and religious institutions. The Pluto connection to the Moon in the 9th House brings up the current Lynne Cheney attack on university professors who speak out again the Administration and the attempt to give religious groups more power under the guise of faith-based initiatives that is back on the radar screen, even after an embarrassing revelation that the White House was willing to make a deal with the Salvation Army so it could bend rules banning discrimination against homosexuals. Pluto also rules sex and abortion issues and it’s connection to the Moon in the 9th House points to the Court being in the middle of these issues again, particularly if Bush appoints a new justice this year.
Pluto sits in the 5th House. This house involves speculative organizations such as the stock market, which is faltering. The sudden fall of Enron and how the fall in its stock price has affected the 401K plans of its employees is now causing worries in the Adminstration. How is the public going to react to all this? A new poll shows that over half of the public (Moon) think the Administration is either lying or hiding something (Neptune!). The 5th House rules children and welfare. Bush has already cut into children’s programs, including pediatric training for doctors, and many “welfare to work” program participants face losing their jobs during this economic downturn, many who will be single women and their children. The Moon-Pluto contact emphasizes these social issues.
The Moon has another interesting contact, namely, to Uranus in the 7th House. As mentioned earlier, the 7th House involves international relations, threats of war, and foreign trade. It also includes other relations, including public relations and alliances. Uranus is the “rude awakener” and indicates where the country will display rebellious activities and where it might switch directions suddenly. It can trend either to the right wing or the left wing. Will the mood of the people suddenly shift in relation to the Administration’s “war” posture? And how will the “public relations” efforts of the Administration with regard to the “war” and Enron play out? Will women’s groups become more outspoken about domestic policies?
We’ll have to see how it all unfolds. But the pressure points for the year are clear. And here’s one last thought—there’s one particularly interesting contact in this year’s Solar Return chart that is also echoed in a contact between the Oath of Office Chart and this Solar Return., indicating a strong energy in play. It’s the opposition that occurs between the Asc and Neptune in the this year's Solar Return -- the same opposition occurs between Oath of Office Neptune and the Solar Return Asc. Remember, the ASC represents the image that the Administration is trying to project to the world, while Neptune represents what’s unclear or hidden. The opposition indicates struggle and instability. Basically, what we’re seeing here is a year of appearances that are not honest or what they appear to be. Will the veil of secrecy that even the pro-Administration Chicago Tribune calls "troubling" be lifted this year?
