I say "We", I mean the community of the State of New Mexico, young people,
senior citizens, firefighters, schoolteachers, public servants, public
officials, parents, and every last one of us.
Why
do this Dreamcatcher Project?
The
Dreamcatcher is a Native American tradition that represents the web of
life. The Dreamcatchers filter out bad dreams and allow good dreams to
pass through, to be fulfilled in the dreamer's destiny.

2. BUY A DREAMCATCHER or
3. MAKE
A CARD or
4. BUY A CARD
5. SIGN YOUR NAME AND ADD
A PERSONAL MESSAGE. TELL THEM YOU CARE. TIE YOUR CARD TO YOUR DREAMCATCHER
6. PLACE YOUR DREAMCATCHER
IN A PLASTIC ZIP-LOCK BAGGIE FOR ITS PROTECTION.
7. TAKE YOUR DREAMCATCHER
TO YOUR LOCAL WELLS FARGO BANK AND PLACE IT IN THE DREAMCATCHER
BOX.
8. SAY A PRAYER OR THINK
GOOD THOUGHTS TO SEND WITH IT.
By making
these dreamcatchers to send to the victims of the September 11, 2001 acts
of terrorism, we teach by positive example that good can come out of hate
and negativity. We can direct our lives and our children's lives and give
all of us a positive outlet for our emotions. We can turn our anger into
love. We can reach out and help others who are victims of this terrible
terrorism. Our attitude in how we handle today will reflect on our future
tomorrow. We will reap what we sow. We can teach our children we are a
part of a larger community with different cultures and beliefs and that
we can work together as a country. On a different level, our Dreamcatchers
will reassure others we care. We must not lose our American Spirit.
We will come together as Americans and we will persevere.
We
will fight evil with good. We will stand proud as Americans.
