1.-- Daniel Droddy b.around 1726 in Ireland; m. Elizabeth ____; came to America. They lived in Augusta Co., VA. Some records can be found in the Irish settlement records in Augusta Co.  They had at least four children:

2.4--William Droddy, b. 1754 in Virginia;  d. in Missouri; (m1). Mary Morris; (m2.) 13 April 1787 in VA to Ruth Ellison (d/o James Ellison, Sr. and Anne (English) Ellison) of Burlington Co., NJ; d. after 1810 in Ohio; at least six children; [NOTE: Margaret Drody Thompson says recent research refutes the m1. to Mary Morris, showing Ruth to be the only wife of William and mother of all his children.  Her note also states that son Charles (below) was never in New Orleans.]

3.1--Charles Droddy (b. 1788), remained in Kanawha County , West Virginia; served in War of 1812, was with Jackson at Battle of New Orleans in 1814 [but see NOTE above]; was a trader in hides, pelts, furs, meat, etc., traveling the rivers north to find these items to sell in New Orleans; settled in what is now Walton, WV, around 1825; m. Sarah Gandee, d/o Uriah and Mercy "Massie"  (Hughes) Gandee, about 1826; 8 children;

4.2--George W. Droddy, ; m. Martha "Mat" Jones, d/o John M. Jones and wife of Cotton Tree Creek; after  serving with the Union army in the Civil War, he and his wife settled in Walton, WV; 2 children;
