3.1--Charles Droddy (b. 1788), remained in Kanawha County , West Virginia; served in War of 1812, was with Jackson at Battle of New Orleans in 1814 [but see NOTE above]; was a trader in hides, pelts, furs, meat, etc., traveling the rivers north to find these items to sell in New Orleans; settled in what is now Walton, WV, around 1825; m. Sarah Gandee, d/o Uriah and Mercy "Massie"  (Hughes) Gandee, about 1826; 8 children; [John M. Hi!
I'm another Droddy descendant, especially Christopher Columbus Droddy, through his son Ota Franklin Droddy, who married, by the way,İMissouri Gibson, (daughter of Martin Gibson and ___). My maternal grandmother was Vesta Matilda Droddy who married James Anderson Barker, and they had my mother, Ida Geraldine Barker, who married my dad, EmilİBaldwin. I'm the third child.
I've been researching the Droddy line and have come into contact with another Droddy relative, and here is his blog page: http://droddys.blogspot.com/2004/11/telling-story.html. He's a member of the "Texas" Droddys although now I think he lives in California.
